Everton are looking to bolster their ranks before the 7pm transfer deadline on Monday after a serious injury to Jack Grealish

Everton manager David Moyes has said there is the chance that the Toffees could complete a signing before the 7pm transfer deadline on Monday.

The Toffees drew 1-1 with Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon after Beto scored a 97th-minute equaliser on the south coast.

"Yes I do [think there's a chance]," said Moyes on the potential for a new signing before the window shuts.

"But don't have a big headline saying he thinks it's coming because it might not and then we disappoint people. We're always better keeping you under the radar, rather than saying yes."

Everton will be without Jack Grealish for the rest of the season as he requires surgery on a foot injury.

Moyes said on Friday: "We believe he's probably going to need surgery, but that's still not absolutely confirmed. It probably rules him out for the rest of the season, yes.

"It's really disappointing for the player, and for the club and all of us. He's such an important part, a big character, big experience for us.

"We will miss him, he's done a lot of good things for us."

The Toffees are moving to get a deal done to bolster their ranks as Sky Sports have now reported that Everton could sign Tyrique George from Chelsea. They have ‘made an offer’ to sign the player on loan with an option to buy.

Talks ‘are ongoing’ between Everton and Chelsea to complete a deal before Monday’s 7pm transfer deadline. The report also claims Sunderland are interested as George is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the window shuts on Monday night.

Chelsea head coach Rosenior recently said about George: “The honest answer is I don't know (if he will leave). Tyrique is a player of immense potential who I've been aware of for a long time. He's been unfortunate. The first game against Charlton, he travelled with the group. He wasn't in the group.

“Yesterday he was on the bench. I've said this to the players, your background, whether you're an academy player, whether you've been signed for £100m, it's about what you do in training.

"I have to say his attitude to training and what I've seen his attitude in the group has been top class. So who's to know? A lot of things have to come together for a player to leave. You need the right interest. You need the right offer. It needs to be right for the player. At the moment, I've had nothing in terms of Tyrique, and I continue to work with him in the group."
