It has been a frustrating transfer window for Everton fans, but the club could be about to finish it with an exciting signing.
Everton have operated with caution this month, with The Friedkin Group seemingly unwilling to splash the cash.

The narrative has been that TFG would only spend big if an exceptional deal presented itself. Thus far, that has not happened.
A right-back and a striker have been the agenda, but the improved form of the likes Nathan Patterson and Thierno Barry has perhaps made these positions less pressing. Beto also scored for Everton on Saturday against Brighton.
The injury to Jack Grealish has seemingly changed the plan for Everton, with a winger now on the cards.
And it looks like Tyrique George could be a deadline day signing for the Toffees.

On Saturday, it was claimed that Everton are closing in on Tyrique George from Chelsea, with an agreement close.

It’s an exciting link, because George is one of Chelsea’s hottest prospects, having made his debut for the club in August 2024.
It remains to be seen if Everton will land him, either on loan or permanently, but he’s a player who’ll excite fans if he comes – and potentially, he could become the club’s 2026 version of Richarlison.
Everton News spoke to The Chelsea Chronicle about George, and have been told that he ‘is an exciting winger who likes taking on his man, when given the chance on a regular basis’.

He was also described to us as ‘a really clean ball striker’.
George also has a somewhat similar profile to Richarlison. He tends to play from the left side, just as the Brazilian did for Everton and still does now. And the teenager can also play through the middle.
George is also pretty much the same height as Richarlison with a very similar physical build. Goal describe him as a ‘rangy wide player who is capable of drifting centrally’, which is definitely a line one could apply to Richarlison.
The Premier League talked up Richarlison’s athleticism when he signed for Everton, and that is also something George has.
George is the kind of player Everton need right now
Hopefully Everton can get this deal over the line by Monday night’s deadline.
With the injury to Grealish, there is simply no way Everton can stand still and thankfully they don’t seem to be doing that.

George is an exciting player, who has a very different style to Grealish. He is much more direct, and we’d likely see him going on the outside more than his fellow countryman.
A move for George would perhaps see Iliman Ndiaye move back over to the right side, where he’d been playing earlier in the season.
Given the struggles of Dwight McNeil and Tyler Dibling, Ndiaye shifting over is something a lot of Evertonians would welcome.
