Wolves 0-2 Bournemouth: Kroupi scores stunner as Cherries see off wasteful Wolves

EliJunior Kroupi's**** first-half stunner helped **Bournemouth**claim back-to-back wins for the first time since September against struggling **Wolves**at Molineux.

The Frenchman netted his eighth goal of the season in spectacular style, thundering a looping effort beyond a helpless Jose Sa just after the half hour.

Alex Scott sealed all three points in second-half stoppage time, tapping home following clever work from debutant Rayan Vitor.

Story of the Match

Despite being late victors over **Liverpool**last time out, **Bournemouth**started sluggishly, with the hosts dominating the early proceedings.

**Matheus Mane** thought he had given the Wanderers the perfect start, nodding in from a Rodrigo Gomes delivery; however, the teenager was flagged offside.

Portuguese Gomes was the architect again moments later, producing a low cross which narrowly evaded the fully-stretched Tolu Arokodare.

**Adli**came close to nudging Bournemouthahead after clever link-up play with Evanilson, but the Moroccan fired over.

Despite the hosts dominance the Cherries broke the deadlock with **Kroupi's**unstoppable looping effort flying past Sá on the half hour.

The 19-year-old has now scored eight times in just 774 minutes this season, announcing himself as one of Europe's highest prodigies.

**Adli**came close to doubling the visitors' advantage, latching onto a KroupiPass before rounding the onrushing Sá, but the Portuguese recovered well to deny the winger.

Alex Jimenez almost capped off an excellent goalscoring week seconds after the interval, but his driving run and strike was kept out at the near post.

Rob Edwards side went in search for the leveler, but Arokodare's close-range strike was kept out by the reflexes of Djordje Petrovic.

The **Serbian**was forced into action again soon after, this time to deny Joao Gomes down to his right before **Palace**-bound Jurgen Strand Larsen struck wide.

**Arokodare**later fired over with the former **Genk**striker spurning yet another golden chance for the hosts.

**Wolves**came within a whisker away from the equaliser when Hugo Bueno’s corner found the head of Joao Gomes, who rattled the far post.

The South coast outfit then completed the victory in second-half stoppage time with substitute **Rayan**beating **Gomes**before putting on a plate for **Scott**to fire home his third of the season.

Following the arrival of Christos Mandas this week, competition came the way of Petrovic, who had struggled over the past few months.

However, the Serbian responded well, making eight saves and crucially denying second-half efforts from Arokodare and Joao Gomes to preserve the Cherries' clean sheet.

With Mandas waiting patiently in the wings, could **Petrovic**recapture his fine form which earned him his £25M move over the summer.

Both teams return to Preimer League action next Saturday 7th February at (15:00 GMT) as Bournemouth hosts inform Aston Villa and **Wolves**welcome **Chelsea**to Molineux.
