Leicester City are reportedly exploring a potential swoop for Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles.
Sky Sports News suggests City are amongst half a dozen Championship sides who have 'made enquiries' regarding the centre-back's availability. Birmingham City are the other named club.
The ex-Nottingham Forest player has been a fixture at St James' Park since arriving in 2014, clocking up 253 appearances for the Magpies.
Nevertheless, he hasn't featured from the start since March 2024 following a serious knee injury.
The 32-year-old managed a handful of substitute appearances this campaign but has been absent from recent matchday squads due to a muscular complaint.

With his contract expiring this summer, Lascelles – should he regain full fitness – would be a relatively low-cost option for the Foxes.
Prior to the festive period, Eddie Howe acknowledged the experienced defender 'is not feeling great in his body at the moment', though following yesterday evening's 4-1 defeat at Liverpool, the Newcastle boss suggested that could be improving.
After confirming Newcastle won't be recruiting before tomorrow's transfer window closes, he disclosed: "The only one that possibly could leave is Jamaal Lascelles."
City lost Caleb Okoli to a ban after he was sent off against Charlton on Saturday, Wout Faes has already left on loan, while Jannik Vestergaard picked up a knock and missed the Addicks game, leaving 21-year-old Ben Nelson as the most regular starter.
