Crystal Palace have made a major breakthrough in their bid to beat Leeds United to the signing of Jorgen Strand Larsen.

That’s according to Sky Sports News who claim Wolves have accepted the Eagles’ bid for the striker.

They reckon the package is worth £48million, including £5m in add-ons – well in excess of Leeds’ limit of £40m.

If the rest of the deal can be hammered out between now and tomorrow’s 7pm transfer deadline, that could set in motion a series of transfer dominoes.

Jean-Philippe Mateta could leave Selhurst Park and seal a move to AC Milan. Nottingham Forest were interested in both Mateta and Strand Larsen.

The development leaves Leeds reliant on Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha and potentially Joel Piroe, but also mindful of their PSR balance.

United made an offer a couple of weeks ago but have not budged from their valuation.
