Nottingham Forest will be travelling to Leeds United next week without star man Neco Williams.
The Whites are left licking the wounds of a 4-0 pasting at the hands of the best side in the league.
Thankfully, Leeds have an opportunity to put that right at home next week, hosting Nottingham Forest at Elland Road.
Nottingham Forest star Neco Williams banned for Leeds United after red card today
Leeds’ meeting with Forest is huge for both sides. That goes without saying.
The chance to move further clear of West Ham, after their capitulation at Chelsea, can’t be squandered. It would be a massive step closer to safety if we can get those three points.
Our hopes of beating Sean Dyche’s side have been boosted by a blow for one of Forest’s star players Neco Williams.
At the time of writing, they’re drawing 1-1 after half-time with fellow strugglers Crystal Palace, having taken the lead early on through Morgan Gibbs-White.
Then, before the interval, a Palace header was bound for the top corner, denied by the flying arm of Williams. Knowing what was about to follow, the Welshman laid face down, before seeing a red card immediately dished out.
Ismaila Sarr converted from the spot to restore parity just before half-time.
It leaves Williams banned for Forest’s trip up to West Yorkshire in five days’ time. Such a setback is quite significant given not only is Williams one of Forest’s best players outright, but also has no sufficient or properly natural cover at left-back.
