Everton recalled Harrison Armstrong at the start of the January transfer window.

Harrison Armstrong was excelling on loan at Preston, so David Moyes made the call to bring him back amid injuries and AFCON absences.

Armstrong has now started four Premier League games in a row and has certainly made an impression on Moyes and the Everton supporters.

There was speculation that Armstrong could return to Preston before Monday’s deadline, now that Idrissa Gana Gueye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are back.

And, with that said, a decision has just been made on his future.

Everton will keep Harrison Armstrong for the rest of the season

Earlier this month, Moyes admitted the ideal plan is for Armstrong to continue his loan at the Championship promotion hopefuls.

“The truth is I would like him to go back to Preston,” the Toffees boss stated.

“I want Preston to get promoted. They’re in a really good position, they’re pushing for the play offs.”

However, Moyes’ stance has now changed after Armstrong’s performances since returning to Finch Farm.

The Times journalist Paul Joyce has now reported that the teenager will be staying at Everton.

“Harrison Armstrong is to remain at Everton for the rest of the season. David Moyes had considered sending the 19-year-old back to Preston North End on loan but has been impressed with the midfielder who started the draw with Brighton.

“Everton plan to give Armstrong opportunities and believe he will help push for Europe.”

James Garner is a huge admirer of Harrison Armstrong

Armstrong has really impressed James Garner since joining up with the first-team, with the former Manchester United midfielder heaping praise on him earlier this year.

“Yeah, Harrison’s a good lad,” Garner explained.

“I’ve known him for a year or two now and he takes on information. And I always knew that he’d that he would eventually make his way into the team.

“You can see the quality that he’s got. “You know, he’s still so young, but he plays very mature. So, yeah, I know he’s added a lot and I’m glad to have him back.”
