Nottingham Forest will be desperate to add some new players to their ranks before the window slams shut on Monday.
Lorenzo Lucca is the only player signed by Forest so far during the transfer window, with more reinforcements being eyed before the deadline at 7pm on Monday evening.
Arnaud Kalimuendo has left for Eintracht Frankfurt, whilst the loan for Douglas Luiz has been terminated, with the midfielder joining Aston Villa, where he made his debut on Sunday in a defeat to Brentford.

It’s incoming business that Forest desperately want to complete, however, with a striker, central midfielder and full-back all being identified before the cut-off for deals.
Forest moved to announce Stefan Ortega before the game with Crystal Palace on Sunday and it would appear that he’s not going to be the only business done before tomorrow.

Nottingham Forest make bid for Arne Engels
According to Florian Plettenberg, Forest have now made an official bid of £14 million to Celtic for Engels.
Forest need a new midfielder after Luiz opted to end his loan and join Villa.

Engels might fancy playing in the Premier League, and perhaps his wishes will be pivotal in whether or not this deal gets over the line before the deadline.
The midfielder signed for Celtic from Augsburg in 2024, and he’s made 88 appearances for the Scottish champions, scoring 15 goals and claiming 20 assists so far in the SPL.
Engels has made four appearances for the Belgium national team, and that in itself does seem to suggest that he’s a very capable performer.
Brendan Rodgers hailed Engels previously, saying that his delivery from set pieces is ‘world-class’, with the former Celtic boss extremely complimentary of the player.

Engels won’t be first choice at Forest
Engels is an international player, and if the price is right, it feels like a deal that could prove to be an extremely good one from a Forest perspective.
Dyche prides himself on being effective from set pieces, and adding a specialist to the ranks could be ideal from his point of view.
However, one thing that might be lingering in Engels’ mind is the fact that he won’t be the first choice and staying put at Celtic Park would be better in terms of him playing regularly.
With the clock ticking on the transfer window, Forest will need to move quickly on this one, but if the Reds can get it over the line, Engels could quickly become a fan favourite.
