Bayern are now significantly increasing the pressure on Dayot Upamecano and his agents. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have received approval from the supervisory board to withdraw their offer for Upamecano in the coming days should the player fail to sign. An improved offer is out of the question. From Bayern’s perspective, they don’t want to wait any longer and would accept a departure on a free transfer in the summer.
Internally at FC Bayern, they say that they submitted an excellent offer and that the time has definitely run out. Within the club, there’s a growing assumption that Upamecano is waiting, among others, for an offer from Real Madrid. Now it’s clear: Upamecano must extend his contract next week or Bayern will withdraw their offer.
