A small detail from Benjamin Sesko’s goal proves his world-class potential

It hasn’t been an ideal start for Sesko at Old Trafford, but his goal against Fulham was his sixth for the club and was his fourth in his last four games.

This is a real sign that he is getting better and confidence in front of the goal is growing. This showed against Fulham, as he took his goal so well.

Sesko had a great cameo, and he could have had two goals, hitting the post with a good header moments after being substituted onto the pitch.

But for his goal, Sesko did something really smart.

When Bruno Fernandes fired in his cross to Sesko, hearts will have been in mouths, but the Slovenian did his job and scored.

It was one small detail that made this possible for the striker.

As he controlled the ball, Sesko feinted to his right, which sent Fulham defender Timothy Castange heading that direction, but Sesko’s touch sent the ball the other way.

This gifted Sesko space from the nearest defender to finish in a composed manner into the top corner.

A brilliant moment by Sesko, even though it is a small part of the goal.

Manchester United can be confident about Sesko’s future

Despite not playing a key role in recent weeks, Carrick has made Sesko feel important, from embracing him post-game or speaking about him glowingly to the press.

The result of this is that when called upon, Sesko is confident and ready to contribute.

Carrick’s man management is worlds apart from Ruben Amorim, and it is showing in how his players are willing to play for him.

Sesko was always going to need a season to adapt, learn and grow as a player in the Premier League, so to be already doing so well, scoring and having a major impact in games this early is a massive indicator of his ability.

How Sesko created his goal was such a small detail but something that proves he has the instincts to be a striker and the goals are coming.
