Kim Little praised our attitude and determination as we beat Corinthians 3-2 after extra time to secure the first FIFA Women's Champions Cup title.
Despite taking the lead twice in normal time, the Brazilian side forced the final to extra time with a late penalty, but Caitlin Foord's winner secured our first silverware of the season.
Our captain was proud of the mental strength we showed to battle to victory at Emirates Stadium.
“Great to obviously get the win here tonight, just super proud of the girls, although it was a bit up and down, it was a pretty interesting spectacle.
“We showed real character and resilience to get the win, so yeah, I’m just really proud of us and it was obviously so much fun to play in front of our fans.
“So many of them turned out and to see them with their scarves held high at the end of the match was another really special moment.”

Winning any trophy is a special moment, but to win the first edition of a new tournament at our home stadium made this a standout achievement for Kim.
“I think that moment, to be able to do that at our stadium and to lift the trophy in this manner after a Champions League win, I’m not sure any of us will ever experience that again, so I’ll make sure to enjoy that.
“Obviously winning the Champions League and that journey we went on to win that, we were able to continue that today.
“This week with the Champions Cup, it’s great to continue that journey, we came up against two different teams that we hadn’t obviously played against before, and I think put out two really great performances.”
While we cruised to a 6-0 win over AS FAR in the semi-finals, Sunday's final proved to be a far tougher test against Corinthians.
But even though we were twice pegged back by the South American champions, we emerged as champions after a determined performance.
“As humans and obviously as players and as teammates we come up against adversity at different moments," Kim said, “We have this incredible ability to deal with what comes."
"We did that today, the whole squad and staff, so yeah, just really pleased and proud that everyone could share that together.”
After a much-deserved evening of celebrations, we'll turn our attention to a WSL clash with league leaders Manchester City.
Our captain feels we can use the momentum from our historic achievement to fuel the next stage of our season.
"Definitely, hopefully we can use this, enjoy this moment and then use it to capitalise.
“Some really great performances going into the league next weekend and the FA Cup and then obviously the Champions League as well."
