The clock is ticking for Coventry City to complete their transfer business for the season - the campaign when the club hopes to secure its return to the Premier League for the first time in 25 long years.

The Sky Blues have until 7pm tonight to get any late deals over the line to strengthen Frank Lampard's squad for the final 16 matches of the season. The Championship club have already added three wingers with the arrival of Romain Esse and Min-Hyeok Yang from Crystal Palace and Tottenham, respectively, while Jahnoah Markelo has signed for a reported £4.3m from Swiss side FC Zurich.

What Lampard has said about possible in-comings

"Until the window is closed nothing’s done. But at the moment I think what we’ve done is what we’ve done. That’s where we’re at.”

Pressed on the subject and asked if he’s looking at other positions, he said: “We’re aware that the market’s open, so we’ll see. If there was something that we felt could help the squad, then that could happen. But if not, we’ve got our squad.”

What positions and how many are likely?

Although many fans have been screaming out for a defensive midfielder, centre-half and left-back, mainly due to a knee-jerk reaction following the 2-1 defeat at Norwich during which there were glaring defensive errors, it's unlikely that Doug King will sanction the signing of too many new faces. A ball winning central midfielder remains the priority.

Where do the club stand on their pursuit of Frank Onyeka?

The Sky Blues are understood to be in talks with the Premier League club over a move for the 28-year-old who is available for both a permanent or loan move – the latter being more likely in City’s case.

The London Evening Standard report that talks between the two parties have “slowed” in recent days but that Coventry are still “leading the race” to sign the Nigerian international.

Championship rivals Sheffield United and Spanish club Valencia have been credited with interest in the player but their progress is said to be at a “less advanced stage” than the Midlands club.

Any more expected to go out on loan or otherwise?

Asked if he's expecting any more departures either out on loan or permanent deals, Lampard said: "I don’t believe so."

As for any of the development lads might be sent out on loan, he added: "I’m not absolutely sure on that one."
