Harrison Armstrong decision made

Harrison Armstrong will remain with Everton for the rest of the season.

The midfielder spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Preston North End, where he became a key part of the club’s Championship promotion drive.

Armstrong was recalled by David Moyes at the start of the month and has since become an important player, starting the last five successive games.

Blues boss Moyes had been open to allowing the 19-year-old to return to Deepdale for the remainder of the campaign and said it would be wrong to read too much into his use of the England youth international after the 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

But it is now understood the decision to keep Armstrong has been made, with the teenager set to compete for a place alongside fellow midfielders including Idrissa Gueye, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Merlin Rohl, James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam.
