Leeds United have until tonight’s January transfer window deadline to strengthen their squad.
Transfer deadline day is finally here - Leeds United having until tonight’s earlier deadline to conduct any remaining ins and outs in the last chance before the summer.
Here, we will bring you all of the news from Elland Road and also from United’s main rivals, right up until this evening’s 7pm deadline.
Whites boss Daniel Farke was asked twice about transfer deadline day after Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at home to Arsenal and essentially kept his thoughts to himself but did double down on an ‘our board knows’ declaration.
Speaking post match to BBC Radio Leeds, Farke was asked how confident he was that the club was in the best position to maximise an opportunity now come Monday night.
Farke reasoned: “Yes and the board knows my thoughts about what we should do with this window and they know my honest opinion about everything and that's it.
"Otherwise I don't want to give too many comments, we can then judge and interpret the transfer window after it's closed.
"But right now I don't want to put any quotes out anyhow because in January it is a difficult window anyway and it makes life sometimes even more difficult.
"We have shown we have enough to stay in this league and whatever happens anyhow we will also have enough after what the next 48 hours will bring.”
At his post-match press conference, Farke was then asked in particular about the goalkeeper situation - and if there had been any discussions this month about strengthening even further in that department.
Farke said: “Our board knows exactly my feelings but I think what we should do during this window and I have mentioned several times I won't speak publicly too much about my opinions because it makes the market just more difficult and for that sadly I can't answer honestly the question anyhow.
"Of course, we are always looking to improve the squad and to bring quality players in, especially in positions we are perhaps a bit weaker anyhow that's for sure.
"But I don't want to speak too much about this because I concentrate on the players that I have available and try to be there with the best possible decision."
