Leicester City are set to complete the signing of Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles on transfer deadline day, according to Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie.
The Championship side have reportedly won the race for the 32-year-old defender, who is set to depart St James’ Park after nearly 12 years at the club.
Several second-tier clubs were reportedly keen on signing Lascelles, who is out of contract at Newcastle in the summer.
The centre-back is expected to undergo a medical today after Leicester won the race for his signature ahead of several other Championship clubs.

According to Downie, Newcastle have agreed a deal for Lascelles’ move to Leicester on deadline day, with the 32-year-old set to undergo a medical.
Newcastle have yet to make any new signings in the winter market and appear unlikely to do so on the final day of the transfer window.
Eddie Howe’s side have been linked with a move for a new defender amid injury issues at the back, but Dan Burn’s return to the squad has eased concerns for the time being.
Defenders Fabian Schar, Tino Livramento and Emil Krafth were all absent for Saturday’s 4-1 defeat to Liverpool, while midfielders Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes also missed the game.
Newcastle have endured a worrying run of results lately, winning just three of their last nine Premier League games.
