In something of a deadline day surprise for many West Ham United fans, the Irons are being topped for a signing on the last day of the transfer window.
Live on Sky Sports this morning the update was welcome news – as far as it goes-that West Ham’s defence is going to receive a boost with Chelsea’s largely redundant ‘monster’ joining the West Ham squad a sa replacement for Brighton’s Igor Julio. As reported by [givemesport.com](https://www.givemesport.com/breaking-west-ham-chelsea-transfer-news-axel-disasi-expected/) this morning:
_“A live broadcast said: “Axel Disasi, we’re hearing, is expected to sign for West Ham today in a loan move from Chelsea._
_“That is despite interest from a number of other clubs, including AC Milan.”_
_It’s a solid move from boss Nuno Espirito Santo, given Disasi’s experiences elsewhere in elite football. The 27-year-old Frenchman, who has five caps, has made eight Champions League appearances in his career, as well as 44 Premier League outings and an impressive 130 Ligue 1 appearances.”_
As predicted – better than no signing at all and probably hastened by the impending ban to Jean Clair Todibo. One to watch today if the Hammers get their finger out to get the medical and paperwork in place by 7pm: Then they’ll have to spend about a month getting Disasi fit.
