Just in: 'Magical' star now undergoing Wolves medical as late deal agreed - report

Angel Gomes is currently undergoing a medical ahead of joining Wolves after a deadline day deal was agreed, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

Rob Edwards' side currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League, having claimed just one win all season, but the club are desperate to fight until the very end to avoid relegation to the Championship, and have moved to strengthen the manager's squad during the January transfer window.

So far there have been no additions, but the club are working hard to make multiple signings on deadline day, and now Gomes is undergoing a medical ahead of a loan-to-buy move.

Gomes, who has been described as a 'magician', joined Marseille on a free transfer during the summer from Lille despite strong interest from the Premier League, but has struggled to make an impact in Roberto De Zerbi's side.

Now Wolves have agreed a loan deal until the end of the season, with an option to make it permanent in the summer should they avoid the drop, and the England international is currently undergoing a medical ahead of putting pen-to-paper on the move.

Wolves are expected to lose striker Jorgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace, after a £43m + £5m deal was agreed with the Eagles, but the club are planning to replace him with Southampton striker Adam Armstrong in a £9m deal, while they have also made an offer to sign Torino star Che Adams before the 7pm deadline.
