It is deadline day of the January transfer window and several exits are set to take place.

Manchester United expect to send several youngsters out on loan on deadline day of the January transfer window. United have until 7pm on Monday to complete any deals before the Premier League deadline.

Manchester World understand United still view it 'unlikely' they will do any business at senior level, with Michael Carrick expected to have the same team until the end of the season. It is important to reiterate that United will remain aware of any market opportunities that might arise in the final hours of the window, just as they were when they were prepared to change plans and sign Antoine Semenyo.

United have prioritised a midfield refresh this year, with two additions expected in the key area of the pitch. That remains the case on deadline day, and while they expect to address the issue at the end of the season, they could make a move for a midfielder today if an appropriate target suddenly becomes available at an attractive price.

Manchester United set to complete deadline day transfer exits

Manchester United sources expect the club to finalise several loan exits on transfer deadline day of the January window.

Ethan Wheatley will officially complete his loan move to Bradford City, despite the fact the League One leaders have already signed two other strikers in the last couple of days. Paul Mullin and Kayden Jackson both moved to Valley Parade, but the promotion contenders will further bolster their ranks with the addition of Wheatley.

United could also expect to send some other academy stars out on loan today, with James Scanlon one of those who could depart before the 7pm deadline. The 19-year-old is already a full Gibraltar international, and there is late interest in him for an opportunity to gain regular football at a senior level.

There is also a chance those players who were recalled from loan exits earlier in the month could be sent out again in the second-half of the season. Sonny Aljofree was brought back from Notts County, Habeeb Ogunneye came back from Newport County and Louis Jackson returned from Solihull Moors.

Sekou Kone is expected to join Lausanne-Sport on loan but there is no rush to complete a deal, with the Swiss deadline not for another two weeks on 15 February.
