Arsenal make approach to sign Sandro Tonali on transfer deadline day according to Sky Sports reporter

It has been reported on Sky Sports that Arsenal have made an approach to sign Sandro Tonali.

The claim has been made by Florian Plettenberg who works for Sky Sports in Germany and primarily covers Bayern Munich, as well as being a ‘transfer window expert’, allegedly.

The Sky Sports reporter claims to have knowledge that Arsenal are trying to sign Sandro Tonali on transfer deadline day.

Plettenberg saying that the Gunners have already approached the Magpies.

The man from Sky Sports states that this alleged initial approach by Arsenal has been rejected by Newcastle United.

As with all transfer stories, best to approach them with extreme caution, believe it when I see it etc etc.

The Sky Sports Germany reporter hasn’t got the greatest track record when it comes to these type of transfer claims, including stuff he has said regarding Newcastle United in the past.

Even if you took all this at face value and for arguments sake, believed that Arsenal have made this approach.

For a Sandro Tonali move to London to happen today, would take some believing.

A transfer on this scale would have needed to have been worked on for some time you’d imagine. Which with nothing at all reported previously, by anybody, makes it extremely unlikely.

Again, if you suspend belief and pretend for just one second that Arsenal are trying to buy him and further suspend belief that Sandro Tonali would be interested in jumping ship now, Newcastle United letting Sandro Tonali leave at such a point…well that would be beyond unbelievable.

With four competitions to contend with, so many players injured, including Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes at the present time. It would be astonishing for Newcastle United to sell Sandro Tonali at this moment in time.

I don’t believe any of this anyway but this is what Sky Sports are claiming.

Guessing they need a Newcastle United angle on Sky Sports today to drive some interest, with seemingly nothing much expected to happen, apart from Jamaal Lascelles moving to Leicester City.

What do you think?
