The Albion midfielder has joined RB Leipzig for the rest of the season on loan.
Gruda has been in out of the Seagulls team and has not built on moments of promise.
But he has done enough to excite fans at times.
Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler said: “Brajan wants regular football, and we are not able to guarantee him that in the second half of the season, so this loan represents a good move for all parties.
“This move gives him that opportunity, a chance to continue his development and we wish him well for the remainder of the season.”
The move kicks off a deadline day which is expected to see Matt O’Riley return from loan at Marseille.
Gruda has played to the right for Albion as well as in his preferred No.10 role.
He joined Albion in summer 2024 from FSV Mainz, after a breakthrough season in the Bundesliga.
Last summer saw him help Germany under-21s reach the Euros final, where they lost to England.
