Tuttosport: Mateta now, Vlahovic in June – Milan plotting ‘revolution’ in attack

AC Milan’s plan for the attacking department involves a potential signing in January and one in June, a report has claimed.

The final hours of the winter window could well be hectic for Milan, as Jean-Philippe Mateta has dominated the scene over the past 24 hours. There is a deal agreed with Crystal Palace to sign the French striker, but further medical checks are needed.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) talks about Milan’s issues in attack this season. Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Santiago Gimenez have all had their physical issues, while the club started the season without a striker. Niclas Fullkrug’s arrived, but has also had recent ailments.

This is why the Rossoneri management are pushing for Mateta, with a major financial move that shuld fix the needs. These needs could lead to a summer shakeup: Gimenez appears to be on his way out, and Fullkrug will be playing for a permanent stay in the final months.

There’s the object of desire that remains fixed in Igli Tare’s thoughts too: Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract with Juventus expires and who could join Milan this summer. Massimiliano Allegri would like to reunite with the Serbian, and Tare remains in talks with his agent.

It’s clear that Milan must focus on the present and the outcome of Mateta’s extra medical will determine a lot. Yet, the Diavolo are also thinking about the future, and Vlahovic remains a name to keep an eye on.
