There has been some huge transfer news regarding both Newcastle United and Arsenal on transfer deadline day, with midfielder Sandro Tonali being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, that move has had cold water poured on it by The Telegraph reporter Luke Edwards - who says that the Magpies have called the story 'stupid' and 'complete rubbish'.
Tonali, who joined Newcastle two-and-a-half years ago, has become one of the club's most important players in recent times, forming a strong partnership in midfield with Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton and Lewis Miley.
Edwards: Sandro Tonali Move to Arsenal 'Rubbish' Amid Deadline Day Links

However, with Mikel Merino becoming injured in recent days, the Gunners are thought to be in the market for a last-gasp addition to keep their place as Premier League frontrunners.
Links to Tonali emerged via Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, who stated on Monday morning that contacts had taken place between the two clubs.
However, Edwards has claimed that Newcastle chiefs believe any talks of a move is 'rubbish'.
The journalist said: "Newcastle United have described stories claiming Arsenal have made a late attempt to sign midfielder Sandro Tonali as “stupid” and “complete rubbish.” But other than that, it’s a good story."
Arsenal already have Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard who are able to play in central midfield, though Tonali would add a huge skillset to their engine room ranks due to his passing range, as well as an ability to drive at the heart of defences and his efficiency at winning the ball back.
But Newcastle would be daft to consider a switch so late into the window, especially given how vital Tonali is to their project.
