Nottingham Forest are said to have been approached by the representatives of striker Jhon Duran about a potential deadline day move.

The Reds are on the lookout for a forward in the final hours of the transfer window. They have already added Napoli loanee Lorenzo Lucca to their ranks but want to further strengthen head coach Sean Dyche’s attacking resources before the 7pm cut-off.

Former Aston Villa man Duran was linked with Forest last month. He is currently on loan at Fenerbahce from Saudi Arabian outfit Al‑Nassr but a switch elsewhere could be on the cards.

According to TEAMtalk, Duran is keen on a return to England for the second half of the Premier League season. His agents are said to be “working around the clock” to find him a move.

Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United were reportedly contacted last week regarding the player’s availability. It is claimed the three clubs have been re-approached and “reminded of the opportunity” to snap up the 22-year-old before the window closes.

Lille looked a likely destination for Duran at one stage, but a deal collapsed. Fenerbahce, who the Reds face in the Europa League play-offs this month, are said to be willing to let him leave and it seems there is little chance of a return to Saudi Arabia.

Russian side Zenit St Petersburg could be an option for the Colombia international, if his Premier League dream fails to materialise. However, his camp are understood to be “hopeful” the forward will find English takers.

Duran caught the eye during his two years at Villa Park before he signed for Al-Nassr in a reported £71 million deal last January. It hasn’t quite worked out for him since then, however, either in Saudi Arabia or in Turkey.

Forest have three areas of the pitch they are targeting reinforcements for before the window closes. In addition to a striker, they want a left-back and a midfielder to bolster Dyche’s squad for the second half of the campaign.
