Wolves may be one of the busier Premier League sides on transfer deadline day

Wolverhampton Wanderers look set to have a busy Deadline Day as the January transfer window comes to a close with Rob Edwards’ side looking to secure late arrivals in order to launch a great escape.

The Ivory Coast international signed for the Old Gold for £16.6 million last January and has scored once in 34 appearances for the club, but the centre-back has only played once since December and was away at AFCON while Wolves began their resurgence in his absence. The club have, therefore, been open to a transfer exit this month though Besiktas are yet to submit a suitable bid.

Agbadou exit ‘no closer’ after Besiktas failed bid

Sky Sports report that Besiktas ‘remain interested’ in Agbadou but a deal is no closer to going through at present. This contradicts reports in Turkey which suggested a move is ‘getting closer’, with Sky Sports confirming that they have been informed this is not the case as things stand.

Wolves previously rejected a bid worth £13m from the Turkish side for Agbadou, with BBC Sport reporting on January 21 that Wanderers are ‘holding firm’ on their £17m valuation. Besiktas are ‘keen’ on exploring a move on Deadline Day, with reporting from Sky Sports continuing that this situation is ‘one to monitor’ today.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports confirm on their transfer feed that Wolves are set to give medicals to both Angel Gomes and Adam Armstrong today, with both players set to arrive to offer a significant boost at Molineux.
