Fulham reject Wilson approach from Premier League rival

Interest: Harry Wilson

Wilson is entering the final four months of his contract at Craven Cottage, and has been attracting late transfer interest in the January window.

Fulham are determined to keep Wilson beyond tonight's 7pm deadline, and hope to tie him down to fresh terms.

Wales international Wilson has been in superb form for Fulham this season, scoring a career-best eight goals to date in the Premier League.

He was also instrumental for Wales during World Cup qualification, contributing five goals in five games last year.

Contract negotiations between Wilson and Fulham are believed to have stalled this month amid transfer interest.

Silva, who is also out of contract this summer, said last month that there is "zero chance" of Wilson leaving mid-season.

However, Standard Sport understands that Wilson is keen for clarity over Silva’s future before committing to the club.

Silva has himnself downplayed suggestions that his and Wilson's contract situations are connected, but hopes to find a resolution soon.

“It’s up to the club to speak with his representatives, and anything else is just speculation and rumours," Silva said last week.

“When you have important players whose contracts are running down, you manage the situation carefully. Hopefully, we’ll have good news soon.”

After being rebuffed by Fulham, Everton remain in the market for a winger and are expected to wrap up the Deadline Day signing of Tyrique George.

The Chelsea youngster is set to join the Toffees on a season-long loan deal, with an option for a permanent summer transfer.

George, incidentally, came close to sealing a £22million move to Fulham last summer, before talks broke down during the final hours of the window.
