Transfer latest from PNE on deadline day
Preston North End are trying to make two permanent signings before the transfer window closes at 7pm.
It’s understood the Lilywhites are trying to bring in Portsmouth attacker Callum Lang and Brighton midfielder Andrew Moran. Links to the latter have surfaced in the last few days and aloan move was said to be in the offing. PNE, though, would like to sign the Republic of Ireland international on a permanent basis if possible.
As for Lang, the player is believed to be in the North West and keen on a move to North End. The two Championship clubs are still trying to sort a deal after several days of back and forth. Down in Portsmouth, a fee of £1.75m has been suggested for Lang but it’s thought that an agreement is yet to be reached.
On the outgoing front, Mads Frokjaer isreportedly in Denmarkfor a medical - ahead of a permanent move to Brondby. Reports suggest that the 26-year-old will make the move for €1.5million plus €250,000 in add-ons. However, it is thought that deal hinges on PNE recruiting themselves on deadline day.
So far this window, Preston have sold Stefan Thordarson to Hannover, loaned Will Keane to Reading and seen Harrison Armstrong recalled by Everton. PNE boss Paul Heckingbottom has added Serbian striker Milos Lukovic to his squad, on a straight loan deal from Strasbourg.
