Wayne Rooney watched on as former Red Devils and England teammate Carrick engineered Man Utd’s dramatic 3-2 win over Fulham in their Premier League clash.
Fulham mounted a comeback against United late in the second half and Marco Silva’s men were level at 2-2 in injury time amid a tense period at Old Trafford.
However, Benjamin Sesko came to the Red Devils’ rescue in the dying stages of the match and the striker netted United’s crucial winner against Fulham on Sunday.

Carrick’s appointment as interim head coach will run until the end of the 2025-26 season after Ruben Amorim was sacked as Man Utd manager in January.
Speaking on his podcast, Wayne Rooney said that he could sense an aura of “calmness” from Carrick when he looked down at him from his seat at Old Trafford.
“There’s a connection to the fans, isn’t there?” Rooney asked on BBC Sport’s The Wayne Rooney Show.
“And I think that’s been missing as well. And even now sat there obviously, I was in the director’s box and looking down at Michael, there’s a calmness.”

What is different between Michael Carrick and Ruben Amorim in the eyes of Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney?
Amorim’s reign at Man Utd came to an end after only 14 months and he was the seventh permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson to be axed by the Red Devils.
The 41-year-old former Sporting CP and United manager’s relationship with Ineos had splintered in the tail end of his reign at the Premier League club.
Rooney insisted that Carrick’s demeanour in the Old Trafford dugout was the exact opposite to how Amorim would carry himself as Man Utd head coach.

“You look at Ruben,” he added.
“No, not today. But there’s a real calmness [from Carrick] when you look down there and that definitely goes through to the players.
“And then when you see Ruben Amorim marching up and down and you know, as a player, you just want to play, you’ve had your instructions, you know, you’ve tactically worked on whatever you’re working on for the game.
“You don’t need the manager kicking every ball and being there. Some players maybe do. I don’t know. I didn’t.
“But there was felt like a real calmness there today [under Carrick].”
United will host Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, with the Premier League clash slated for a 12:30pm kick-off time in the UK.
