Key Leeds United rivals have seen bids for two stars rejected.

Leeds United’s key Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest have seen bids for a £30m-rated Championship star and £17m offer for a Celtic ace rejected.

Fourth-bottom Forest began the weekend one point behind fifth-bottom Leeds but joined Daniel Farke’s Whites on 26 points with Sunday’s 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace.

Like Leeds, Sean Dyche’s side are now six points clear of third-bottom West Ham but the Reds reportedly want to sign a centre midfielder and possibly a left back too to further strengthen their squad on transfer deadline day.

Forest, though, as per Sky Sports, have seen bids for Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney and Celtic’s Belgian international ace Arne Engels both rejected.

According to the BBC, Forest’s bid for Engels was worth £17m.

The amount offered for Hackney is unclear but the 23-year-old looked set to make a £20m move to Ipswich Town in the summer before opting to stay at The Riverside.

The midfielder is thought to be valued nearer the £30m mark amid reported interest from Manchester United too.
