This season has been so hot and cold that it is easy to forget some of the incredible talents Manchester United currently has.
Michael Carrick has settled the rot at Manchester United, securing wins in his opening three games in charge of the club.
Most recently, United beat Fulham with a dramatic 3-2 stoppage-time winner, scored by Benjamin Sesko.
Since arriving, Carrick has made minimal changes to his team week by week, clearly just trying to bring some stability to the club.
But now United need to make a change for a talent who has improved himself massively already this season.
Is Rio Ferdinand Man Utd’s best defender of all time? 🐐🤔
If it is NOT Rio Ferdinand, then who is it? 🛡️🥷

Leny Yoro has packed on muscle for Manchester United
Harry Maguire has started all three games under Carrick.
Despite giving away a penalty, Maguire is crucial to Carrick; however, he is far from the future of the club and shouldn’t be playing every game.

So, instead, Leny Yoro should get more minutes.

It is easy to forget that Yoro is only 20, given that he has been at the club for almost two years already. Blessed with world-class talent, United has gotten more than just a glimpse of this despite some struggles more recently.
Having not played much in the past month, Yoro came off the bench against Fulham with a noticeable change to his physicality.
Yoro has clearly added muscle to his frame and bulked up from being the skinny kid signed by Ineos, which was a stage in his development that was always needed.
United want Yoro playing more going forward, and it is a key reason Maguire hasn’t been offered a new contract yet.
While not the finished product yet, Yoro has all the tools to be an elite defender in the next few years, but he needs to be playing to realise this. Physicality was one weakness in Yoro’s game, given his age, but he looks much stronger and ready for the Premier League now.
Rio Ferdinand has always urged patience with Leny Yoro
“He’s a student of the game, he sees his mistakes, he acknowledges his mistakes and he tries to learn from those mistakes.”

Leny Yoro is being slept on by Manchester United fans
At 20, few defenders are at their best, with Rio Ferdinand always urging patience with Yoro.
However, this season, Yoro has been more good than bad, which seems to have been forgotten as he gets slept on for how good he already is.
The most recent memory would be Yoro’s poor defending against Morgan Rogers, but even then it took a world-class goal and player to score, with Yoro not the only defender to struggle with the Villa star.
Liverpool are set to spend massive money on Jeremy Jacquet, but United already has the far better prospect.
Carrick now just needs to give him more minutes to protect Maguire and also allow Yoro to build confidence in a team which is flying – something he hasn’t experienced at United before.
Yoro is going to be one of the best in the world, so it’s time United start treating him as such again.
