Everton transfer news on deadline day.

Everton could have somewhat of a busy ending to the winter transfer window.

David Moyes’ side are in the process of finalising a loan deal for Tyrique George from Chelsea. After Jack Grealish suffered a fractured foot, the Toffees require a replacement and George has been identfied.

But with injuries easing, along with Harrison Armstrong returning from a loan spell at Preston North End, there may well be a late departure.

Italian side SS Lazio had a bid turned down for Tim Iroegbunam last week. But Armstrong being back in the fray, as well as Idrissa Gana Gueye returning from the African Cup of Nations and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall overcoming a hamstring issue, Iroegbunam could find himself down the pecking order at Hill Dickinson Stadium. He is also behind James Garner, who recently signed a new four-year contract.

Iroegbunam’s Everton deal expires in 2027 so the club could well look to cash in if the right offer is made. It is suggested by The Telegraph that upping Lazio increasing their offer ‘could persuade Everton to do business’.

In addition, Nathan Patterson has been linked with Genoa. The right-back has spent the majority of the season on the periphery of things. But because of a lack of availability, Patterson did start recent wins over Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, as well as a 1-1 draw against Leeds and FA Cup loss to Sunderland.

However, Patterson found himself on the bench in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Brighton, with centre-back Jake O’Brien returning to the wide role. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Serie A outfit Genoa are keen. However, Genoa will only make a move for Patterson is Brooks Norton-Cuffy departs. Romano posted on X: “Genoa explore deal to sign Nathan Patterson from Everton on loan, only if Norton Cuffy leaves the club before the Deadline.”
