Sunderland could still be busy on transfer deadline day after completing two deals over the weekend - with a focus still on the top end of the pitch.

The Black Cats signed Swedish goalkeeper Melker Ellborg from Malmo then allowed fellow shot-stopper Anthony Patterson to move to Championship promotion hopefuls Millwall on loan.

That is unlikely to be the end of the business. Sunderland have been hoping to strengthen their attack this window and have been linked with a number of wide forwards, including Chelsea's Tyrique George. However, the youngster is on the verge of joining Everton on an initial loan deal.

The future of Wilson Isidor could also take a twist, with the player's name being mentioned in connection with a number of clubs over the last few days, including Turkish side Beskitas and Serie A champions Napoli.

Another club who have explored a move for Isidor is Paris FC, with reports in France suggesting figures close to €25m were discussed. However, that deal is believed to have collapsed due to internal resistance at the French club.

Isidor has netted four goals across 22 appearances this season, having started the Premier League campaign with a bang. Since then he has been ousted from the team by Brian Brobbey who looks much better suited to the demands of Premier League football.

Le Bris admits he is delighted with the way the Dutchman - a xxx signing in the summer from xxxx - has been playing. Brobbey now has five Premier League goals to his name and continues to grow in confidence.

“Brian is getting better. He can fight, he can run, he can press and he can defend," Le Bris said ahead of tonight's Premier League clash with Burnley at the Stadium of Light.

“He is getting more confident and building connections with his teammates, and he’s been scoring goals, which is really important, especially for a striker.”

While Sunderland remain keen to add extra firepower to an attack that has often struggled to get goals this season - they are the fourth lowest scorers in the Premier League - the Sunderland boss believes Brobbey's form has taken away some of the pressure this window.

"For us as a club and a team we don't have to rush anything," he has said previously. "We're happy with our squad.

"If we can reinforce our team we'll try. We'll see what happens - it's better for us to stay under the radar. The market is the market and it's unpredictable, but often more active at the end."
