Tim Iroegbunam could still leave Everton before the end of the winter transfer window.
Iroegbunam has been linked with a move away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium since the start of January, but remains with the Toffees for now.
The 22-year-old came off the bench as Everton drew 1-1 with Brighton on Saturday, returning from injury for his first appearance in three games.
Before his enforced spell on the sidelines, Iroegbunam had started five matches in a row for David Moyes, but the Merseyside outfit could still be convinced to cash in before the deadline.
Lazio could persuade Everton to sell Tim Iroegbunam
Everton rejected a £15million bid for Tim Iroegbunam from Lazio last week, believing that the midfielder is worth more than that.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
Moyes has remained adamant that he doesn’t want to lose anyone before the transfer deadline, as his squad is already lacking depth.
However, according to The Telegraph, if Lazio submit an improved offer before the end of the window, then it could persuade the Toffees to let Iroegbunam leave.
Everton Tim Iroegbunam stats
The 22-year-old midfielder only joined Everton in the summer of 2024, moving from Aston Villa for a fee believed to be around £9m.
Iroegbunam made 18 Premier League appearances for the Merseyside outfit last season, but has already reached that same number this term, as he has enjoyed a more important role in the squad.
Will Everton make any signings before the deadline?
As well as potential outgoings, Everton are also working on bringing in some new faces before the transfer deadline.
Tyrique George is expected to move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium from Chelsea, after the Toffees agreed a deal to sign the 19-year-old attacker.
George will join Moyes’ side on an initial loan deal, with the Merseyside outfit holding an option to buy the teenager in the summer.
Everton would also like to sign a right-back, after they were forced to start with four centre-halves across their defence against Brighton.
However, time is quickly running out and it remains to be seen whether they can get anyone else in before the winter transfer window comes to a close.
