Fabrizio Romano expects Wolves to announce the signing of midfielder Angel Gomes this afternoon.
Speaking on the Market Madness podcast, GIVEMESPORT's senior reporter Romano confirmed that 'everything is in place' for a loan deal for the England international.
Wolves Set to Announce Angel Gomes Deal

Gomes has been strongly linked with a move to Molineux during the latter stages of the January transfer window and it was reported by talkSPORT's Alex Crook on Deadline Day morning that the midfielder was undergoing a medical with Wolves.
Romano has now provided his assessment of the situation, confirming that he expects the 25-year-old to join the Midlands club on loan with an option to buy, and that there should be an official announcement this afternoon. Romano told Market Madness:
"He’s going to join Wolves, everything was agreed. Today is time for medical and contract signing but everything is in place. On loan with a buy-option clause from Marseille.
"Many people were surprised with this one... but the reality is Angel Gomes wants to play. He really wants to play and have consistent game time and that was going to be difficult at Marseille.
"The player has decided he’s ready to go to Wolves, medical today and I expect an official statement in the afternoon."
Great Business from Wolves
Angel Gomes in action for England
Gomes is a class act and not long ago was being discussed as a potential solution to England's inability to control games with the ball. He's fallen out of Three Lions reckoning since Thomas Tuchel took the job, but that's perhaps why the playmaker is so keen on a move for the second half of the season, ahead of the World Cup.
More technical than tenacious, Gomes isn't your typical signing in a relegation battle. But he will definitely offer Rob Edwards a different way of winning games by providing extra quality and control in possession. The structure of the deal, meanwhile, allows Wolves to avoid any financial obligations if they fail to beat the drop and can't afford Gomes' wages in the Championship.
