Jhon Duran
Leeds United have not had the best couple of days, and with the January transfer deadline closing on Monday, it could be a very bad start to the week. Daniel Farke’s side have to pick themselves up after what happened on Saturday.
In a game that was expected to be tightly-contested, Arsenal blew Leeds United away at Elland Road. It was the first home defeat the Whites had suffered since December; and it came in the worst possible fashion. Mikel Arteta’s side put Leeds to the sword; scoring four goals, with the home side not even able to muster a consolation effort. Now, the team have to go back to the drawing board ahead of Friday’s game against Nottingham Forest.

Leeds United linked with shock move for Jhon Duran
This past week has not been a particularly pleasing one for the fanbase; they missed out on a major transfer target, and were humbled at home. Reports emerged that a deal for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen was on the table, with the Whites set to welcome their second signing this month. But everything broke down when Crystal Palace entered the picture – the Eagles had a bigger offer for the Norwegian.
As of Monday, Palace have not officially completed a move for the 25-year old, and when it comes to Leeds, the door has been closed.
In a surprising turn of events, the Whites have been handed a huge chance to make amends after missing out on Strand Larsen. TEAMtalk have reported that Fenerbahce striker Jhon Duran has been offered to some Premier League clubs, including Leeds United. Duran is said to prefer a move to England, with his representatives working on a possible move before the deadline arrives.
Club should take the gamble
At this point of the window, Leeds have made it clear that they will only approach opportunities that present themselves. The Whites were not willing to match the valuation of Jorgen Strand Larsen, and that is what lead to the breakdown of their deal. Now, Jhon Duran is a serious option on the table.
The Colombian is keen on a return to England and is very eager to find a way out of Al Nassr at this point of the season. The 49ers should take a chance on the 22-year old; despite the circumstance surrounding him, he is still a wonderful player. And Leeds need some firepower up front; if the opportunity presented is concrete, the club might as well follow through.
