The latest transfer talk from Leeds United during the final hours of the January transfer window.
The Whites have been active during the transfer window after completing a loan deal for Brighton and Hove Albion attacking midfielder Facundo Buonanotte and the Argentina international has made his first appearances for the club in the recent draw at Everton and Saturday’s home defeat against title favourites Arsenal. There have also been some departures from Elland Road as Jack Harrison has joined Fiorentina on loan and that move could become a permanent switch during the summer if the winger can help his temporary employers fight a successful battle against relegation from Serie A this season.
First-team prospect Harry Gray also made a loan move away from Leeds as he is spending the rest of the season with League One side Rotherham United and the 17-year-old frontman has impressed by finding the net against Northampton Town and Exeter City to help the Millers claim consecutive wins over the last week. Time is running out for Leeds to complete any incoming or outgoing business as the clock ticks down towards the 7pm deadline.
However, Farke will have an eye on one deal taking place in Germany as Paderborn midfielder Luis Engelns has completed a move to Bundesliga club Hoffenheim after impressing for the second tier club during the first half of the season. The 18-year-old can feature in a number of roles in midfield and will now hope to step into German football’s top tier - although reports have suggested Engelns, who is the son of Leeds boss Farke, is viewed as a backup option and a player for the future by his new club.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has posted: “Luis Engelns to TSG Hoffenheim – DONE DEAL Full agreement reached with Paderborn. Hoffenheim are signing the 18 y/o midfielder with immediate effect. Medical completed successfully.”
