Martina Fernandez headed home with 60 seconds of added time remaining at Goodison Park to earn the Toffees a 2-1 win.
It was a familiar feeling for Villa, who conceded a late leveller to draw the reverse fixture with Everton 3-3 earlier in the season.
Ebony Salmon fired the visitors in front on Merseyside but Fernandez levelled before the break and then won it, as Villa suffered a loss which saw them slip to eighth in the Women’s Super League standings.
A six-minute hat-trick from Lotta Lindstrom helped Blues power past Nottingham Forest and keep the pressure on Super League Two leaders Charlton.
Lindstrom’s quickfire treble turned what had been a tight encounter into a rout as the home side stormed to a 5-1 win.
Veatriki Sarri’s opener for Blues had earlier been cancelled out by Joy Owema, with Wilma Leidhammar restoring the lead before Lindstrom took control.
Sporting Khalsa boss Juan Dopazo admitted to mixed feelings after his team drew 2-2 at home to Hull in the National League Northern Division.
The point was just Khalsa’s seventh of the season and came after they twice fought back from a goal down in the first half, with Lowri Walker scoring twice.
But Dopazo conceded some frustration at his team being unable to claim the victory.
He said: “If we look at the table, in terms of getting a point we can be positive.
“But I think we are still disappointed. I think we created chances to get a win, especially in the second half.
“At the end of the day in a relegation battle, every point is important. It’s not perfect but it is a good point.
“To show the character to come back twice is really good. Lowri deserves all the praise she has got today. She did really well.”
Kidderminster Harriers sit just one place above the Division One Midlands drop zone after going down 2-1 at Northampton.
Faye Noble got the winner for the home side in the second half, after Harriers’ Mill Rogers had cancelled out Lacey Snape’s opener.
Lye Town remain just one point off the top of the West Midlands Premier Division after a 4-1 win over fellow promotion hopefuls Shifnal Town. Tash Baptiste was twice on the mark for Lye.
Leigh Dugmore also scored twice for Hednesford Town as they beat Burton Albion 2-0 at home to move further into the comfort of mid-table.
Lichfield City sit top of Division One North after a 4-1 home win over Telford Town. Donna Millward, Loren Cooper and Corinna Williams were on target for Lichfield, who are two points clear of Walsall at the summit, having played a game more.
