Sunderland have agreed a deal to sign Ecuadorian winger Nilson Angulo, who replaces Simon Adingra at the Stadium of Light, per Fabrizio Romano.
The Black Cats allowed Adingra to move on loan to French side Monaco on January transfer deadline day after the Ivorian failed to impress under Regis Le Bris. He joined the newly-promoted Premier League club from Brighton & Hove Albion for £20.5m but has started just nine league games.
Angulo looks set to replace Adingra and give Le Bris more options out wide as he looks to build on his side's impressive first six months back in the top-flight. The French manager has overseen eight wins and six defeats in 24 games with his men exceeding expectations.

Romano confirmed Sunderland had reached an agreement with Anderlecht for Angulo to head to Wearside. He wrote on X:
"Nilson Angulo to Sunderland, here we go! Deal agreed now with Anderlecht. Surprise move agreed by (Sunderland) and medical ongoing now. 22 year old Ecuadorian winger joins to replace Simon Adingra on his way to AS Monaco."
Sky Sports reports that the deal will cost £15m for Angulo, a left-winger who has impressed in the Belgian Pro League and has put up excellent numbers for Anderlecht this season. He has registered seven goals and eight assists in 30 games across competitions.
The Ecuadorian is renowned for his dribbling and his confidence to take on his man, using his pace to create problems. His exploits in Belgium have earned him 12 caps for his national team, and he will likely be on the plane for this summer's FIFA World Cup.
Le Bris will be hoping that Angulo is an improvement on Adingra, who failed to shine after his big-money move in July 2025. He appeared 14 times in the league, posting just one goal and one assist.
It looks likely that the Ecuadorian will be the Black Cats' only signing on deadline day, which is a massive contrast to the business conducted last summer. The squad has performed well this season and signings such as Omar Alderete, Granit Xhaka and Nordi Mukiele have been key men.
