Fulham reject Harry Wilson bid from Premier League rival - despite contract expiry

Everton have had an approach to sign Harry Wilson knocked back by Fulham, talkSPORT understands.

The 28-year-old is enjoying the best season of his Premier League career to date - chipping in with eight goals and four assists from 23 matches.

Only six players have scored more than the Wales international in the top-flight this term.

And with his contract to expire in the summer, his future at Craven Cottage has been in question as to whether Fulham would cash in on him.

But they are seemingly prepared to lose him for nothing after rejecting an offer from the Toffees.

The England international - on loan from Manchester City - is in danger of missing the rest of the season after suffering a broken foot.

And the Merseyside outfit will now be turning their attention elsewhere after coming up short in their quest to nab Wilson.

talkSPORT understands that one player that is on the verge of making the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium is Chelsea forward Tyrique George.

The two clubs have agreed an initial loan deal until the end of the season with an option to buy.

For Fulham, they have been adamant that Wilson will not be leaving this window as they chase a European spot with the club eighth in the table.

Boss Marco Silva, who is also out of contract at the end of the campaign, declared last month there is 'zero chance' that Wilson would be departing.

Wilson has found the back of the net three times in his last five games

He said: "[There is] completely zero chance of him leaving [this month].

"Not because we have an offer – I know there is starting to be some noise about the possibility of him leaving in this window – no chance, zero chance.

"He is doing well, let’s hope he can continue this way.

"Of course, the confidence from us, his team-mates, and his good performance will always be a great help for him to maintain this level.”

Wilson joined Fulham on an initial loan deal in July 2021, with the player going on to score 34 goals in 172 matches in all competitions.

While Fulham fans will be buoyed by the news of Wilson's immediate future, they have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of PSV striker Ricardo Pepi.
