Everton could offload the player before the end of the January transfer window at 7pm on Monday evening

Everton striker Beto has emerged on the radar of Juventus on the final day of the January transfer window, according to talkSPORT. The report suggests the Serie A ace have lodged an ‘enquiry’ about the availability of the Premier League attacker. However, the Toffees are ‘reluctant’ to sell him if they can’t bring in a replacement.

The Merseyside outfit are positioned in 9th place in the table after 24 fixtures. They drew 1-1 away at Brighton and Hove Albion over the weekend. Beto scored a last-gasp equaliser against the Seagulls at the AMEX Stadium.

Everton striker Beto wanted by Juventus

Everton currently have Beto and Thierno Barry as their two main attacking options down the middle. If they sold one of them, they would be left short of options. Therefore, they have to sign someone in that position if there is to be a deadline day exit.

Beto, 28, is under contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium until June 2028 so they are under no pressure to sell him anytime soon. He has made 27 appearances in all competitions this season, 24 of which have come in the league, and he has scored four goals. The forward has been on the books of his current club since 2024.

The Guinea-Bissau international, who has 10 caps to his name, found the net on 10 occasions in the last campaign. However, he hasn’t managed to reach the same heights this term. Prior to his move to England, he had spells at Portimonense and Udinese in Portugal and Italy respectively.

Will Everton offload Beto?

It would be a surprise to see Beto leave Everton at this stage. They can’t afford to head into the remainder of the season with just Barry as their senior striker option. The Toffees are still in the mix for Europe if they can hit some form.

Speaking after their draw with Brighton, Moyes heaped praise on Beto and said: “I think the reaction from the crowd probably tells you, I think that everybody has been desperate for Beto to do well and he continues to work, work like a beast every day to try and improve himself, to try and make himself better. Sometimes in life the harder you work the luckier you get.”

Everton are back in action this weekend as they look to build on their point against the Seagulls. They face an away trip to London to play Fulham at Craven Cottage. Their upcoming opponents lost 3-2 to Manchester United last time out at Old Trafford.
