Manchester United agree loan exit for striker on deadline day

Man Utd are set to send several players out on loan on deadline day of the January window.

Manchester United striker Gabriele Biancheri has agreed to join Rotherham United on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has scored eight goals in 21 appearances across the youth teams this season and is eager to get a taste of professional football at a key stage in his career. Biancheri is a Wales U21 international and is also eligible to play for both Canada and Italy, with a decision yet to be made on which nation he might chose to represent at senior level.

Biancheri has struggled to score goals consistently this season but has done enough to keep Chido Obi out of the starting line up for most of it. He made headline when he scored a hat-trick against Tottenham U21s back in October and also net an impressive brace in a Premier League International Cup win over Borussia Dortmund.

United agree fourth exit on deadline day

Manchester United have already agreed four proposed loan exits on deadline day of the January transfer window.

Gabriele Biancheri is the latest youngster to approve an exit, with the striker expected to complete a loan to Rotherham United as they battle to stay in League One. The Millers sit 20th in the table but caused a shock when they thrashed Exeter 4-0 over the weekend.

Rotherham have turned to Biancheri after they missed out on a loan for Swansea youngster Bobby Wales, while current forwards Jordan Hugill and Josh Kayode are both currently injured. It leaves the Yorkshire club with just two fit options in attack, and they are desperate to bolster their ranks before the 7pm deadline on Monday.

In terms of other proposed loan departures, Ethan Wheatley is expected to complete his loan move to League One rivals Bradford City and James Scanlon will join League Two promotion hopefuls Swindon Town. Jacob Devaney has agreed to join St.Mirren and Sekou Kone is expected to move to Lausanne-Sport before the Swiss transfer window closes on 15 February.
