Jack Hunt gets used to his new surroundings at Wigan
Jack Hunt says he turned down 'a few options' to join Wigan Athletic for the rest of the season - because he feels the club is 'the right fit for me'.
The 35-year-old defender - who has played in the Premier League with Crystal Palace - recently left Stockport County, for whom he made 13 appearances during the first half of the campaign.

He becomes Latics' third January signing, and is determined to help the side arrest a wretched run of results and climb up the League One table.
“It’s really exciting for me," he said. "It’s a new club and a new chapter, and I am looking forward to helping the team in any way I can.
"The club showed a real desire to get me here, and that’s what you want as a player. I had a few options to choose from, and I felt like this was the right fit for me."
Hunt brings a wealth of experience to the squad, having won promotion from League One twice with Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town, as well as playing over 250 games in the Championship.
“Jack is a player who brings a huge amount of experience and know-how to our squad," said Latics sporting director Gregor Rioch.
"He has played at a high level and has over 250 Championship appearances to his name, which speaks volumes about his quality and consistency.
"Jack is a dependable, experienced defender who will add leadership on and off the pitch, and his versatility and professionalism make him an excellent fit for the group.
"We’re pleased to welcome him to the club on a short-term deal and are confident he’ll make a positive impact as we head into an important period of the campaign.”
Leeds-born Hunt came through the ranks at Huddersfield, and earned a place in the League One Team of the Year as Town secured promotion to the Championship via the play-offs, overcoming Sheffield United on penalties at Wembley.
He went on to feature in 40 of Huddersfield’s 46 league fixtures the following Championship season, which earned him a £2 million move to the top flight and Palace.
His time at Selhurst Park was disrupted by a broken ankle suffered and, after loan spells with Barnsley, Nottingham Forest, Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday, he joined the Owls on a permanent basis
Hunt spent three seasons at Bristol City between 2018-21 before returning to Wednesday, helping them back into the Championship via the play-offs.
He spent another two seasons in Bristol, this time with Rovers in League One, where he worked under current Latics assistant head coach Glenn Whelan.
After the Pirates’ relegation to League Two last summer, Hunt departed and joins Latics after a short but productive spell at Stockport.
