Marseille have made contact with Everton over the potential signing of left-back Adam Aznou, with Roberto De Zerbi's side looking to bring him in on loan with an option to buy, according to journalist Fraser Fletcher.
Since joining the club from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window, Aznou has struggled to make an impact, failing to impress David Moyes as he still waits for his first appearance in the Premier League. Aznou was left out of Everton's squad to face Brighton at the weekend, despite Vitalii Mykolenko being unavailable, casting further doubt over his future at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

According to journalist Fletcher, Marseille have made an approach to Everton to try and sign young left-back Aznou from the Toffees. The French club are looking to secure his signature on loan with an option to buy.
Based on Aznou's lack of minutes this season, a loan departure would make sense for the young left-back, but including an option to buy could be a risk for the Toffees. The Moroccan defender hasn't been given enough of a chance to impress, and he's a highly-rated prospect who needs to be playing regularly.
Allowing Aznou to depart without a buy option would be a smart move for the club and player, especially if he's going to join a club that are willing to make him a guaranteed starter.
Aznou isn't the only Everton player to receive an approach on deadline day, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Genoa have made contact regarding a potential deal for Nathan Patterson.
