It’s not all that often that West Ham United will have beaten AC Milan to the signing of a new player.
Indeed, while Serie A is no longer the force of old – perhaps highlighted by the fact Milan signed Niclas Fullkrug from West Ham – they are still one of the major names in European football.
We all love the club to bits, but let’s be real – what would you have to tell a new signing to convince them to join?! 😔

Still, such is the spending power and the general allure of the Premier League, West Ham do arguably look like a more compelling option right now, even despite their current malaise.
That is surely more of a reflection on the financial landscape football finds itself in right now but Milan have seemingly given up the ghost on Axel Disasi.
AC Milan accept that Axel Disasi is joining West Ham United
According to The Daily Mail, the Milan giants have come to a conclusion over the French defender.
Despite trying to sign the former Monaco defender on loan for the rest of the season, Milan have accepted that Disasi will instead join West Ham.
That is a big boost for the Hammers, although clearly a risky one considering the 27-year-old hasn’t played a senior game of football in almost nine months now.

Axel Disasi’s doubts on West Ham United have been quashed
Disasi rejected a move to West Ham in the summer of 2025 and there were suggestions that he had doubts over a move during the January transfer window.
However, it now appears as if those have been quashed.

Hammers News can reveal that the defender believes he can make an impact straight away in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, following Jean-Clair Todibo’s red card against Chelsea.
Disasi is more open to joining West Ham now, which is a major positive heading into the final hour of the January transfer window.
