A new solution has emerged for Nottingham Forest as they look to bring in a left-back before the transfer window closes.
The Reds have three key areas they want to strengthen before the 7pm cut-off. They would like to bring in a striker and a midfielder, but full-back is a particular priority.
A number of potential options have been on the club’s radar in recent weeks, but it seems Borussia Monchengladbach’s Luca Netz is the one to get the green light. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has been reached for the youngster to make the move.
A £2 million fee is said to have been agreed, plus add-ons and a sell-on clause, with a minimal outlay possible as Netz was due to be a free agent in the summer. The Athletic have reported a medical is taking place ahead of Netz penning a four-and-a-half-year contract.

On Sunday, the Reds confirmed the departure of Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Ukrainian’s loan spell from Arsenal was cut short after he had struggled to make an impact Trentside, and he has now linked up with Ajax.
Zinchenko’s exit has, though, left Forest short over cover in that department. Ola Aina and Neco Williams have established themselves as first-choice right and left-backs respectively - with both capable of playing on either side - but full-back is an area in need of additional resources.
Head coach Sean Dyche is waiting for confirmation of the severity of the injury summer signing Nicolo Savona recently sustained. Additionally, the Reds will be without Williams for Friday’s crunch clash away to Leeds United as he will be suspended following his sending off in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

Netz signed for Borussia Monchengladbach five years ago after coming up through the ranks at Hertha Berlin. The 22-year-old has represented Germany at various age group levels, including the Under-21s.
Two players have come through the City Ground doors so far this window. Striker Lorenzo Lucca put pen to paper on a loan deal from Napoli and goalkeeper Stefan Ortega joined from Manchester City on Sunday.
