January has been a confusing and often contradictory month for West Ham United.
The Hammers have added fresh faces to Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad, with three new signings already through the door and Axel Disasi expected to be confirmed imminently as a fourth arrival.
At the same time, the club have sanctioned the exit of Lucas Paquetá, who has returned to boyhood side Flamengo in a move that dealt a major blow to West Ham’s hopes of dragging themselves clear of relegation danger.
Now, it appears Paquetá may not be the only notable name eyeing an exit before the window slams shut.

West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen is pushing for a loan move ahead of the transfer deadline, as he looks to secure regular minutes, according to BBC Sport.
The 25-year-old Dane has not featured in the Premier League since September and is understood to be eager for game time as he tries to put himself back in contention for international selection ahead of a crucial period for Denmark.
Hermansen’s national side face North Macedonia in a World Cup play-off semi-final next month, with a final against either Czech Republic or the Republic of Ireland awaiting the winners as they bid to qualify for this summer’s tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Once labelled “brilliant” by former Premier League goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, Hermansen joined West Ham from Leicester City last summer in a £16.5m deal. He began the campaign as first choice but lost his place after just four league outings, with Alphonse Areola taking over between the posts.
Since then, Hermansen’s involvement has been minimal, with his only appearance coming in last month’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over QPR.
While the Dane is keen to move on loan, West Ham face a dilemma. Allowing him to leave would require the club to line up a replacement goalkeeper before Monday’s 19:00 GMT deadline — meaning there is no certainty that Hermansen will get the move he is hoping for.
