West Ham have endured a turbulent period in the transfer market over the pasts few years.
The club has seen several key figures depart, most notably Lucas Paquetá, who returned to boyhood side Flamengo in a move that dealt a major blow to the Irons’ survival hopes.
Other exits include Mohamed Kudus to Tottenham, Declan Rice to Arsenal, and club-record scorer Michail Antonio, who left under tragic circumstances.
With the January window closing, speculation was swirling that another star could be on the move — and that Jesse Lingard and Kurt Zouma might return. The club has now addressed the rumours head-on.
West Ham Rule Out Wan-Bissaka Sale
Claims linking right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to a surprise move to Liverpool have been dismissed by the club.
The 28-year-old has been a revelation since joining West Ham in the summer of 2024 for just £15 million, earning plaudits as an “aggressive” defender from former manager Graham Potter.
Wan-Bissaka has consistently proven himself as one of the Premier League’s best one-on-one defenders while also contributing effectively going forward.
Hammers News asked a senior West Ham spokesman whether the rumours of Wan-Bissaka’s departure or the return of Lingard and Zouma had any substance.

The response was firm: “The Wan-Bissaka to Liverpool and Lingard/Zouma return rumours are all rubbish,” the spokesperson said.
For now, Wan-Bissaka remains a key figure for Nuno Espírito Santo, providing stability at right-back as the club continues its fight to stay in the Premier League.
