Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has been linked with a move to West Ham in the January transfer window.
Given the Hammers’ poor defensive record, conceding the most goals in the Premier League, Nuno Espirito Santo has urged the board to sign a new centre-back.
With the window shutting in a few hours, West Ham are yet to sign a centre-back in this transfer window.
If you had to rate this signing between 1 and 5, what would you go for? 🤔
We're closing in on a defender, but is he the right one?! 👀

Axel Disasi appears to be waiting on one thing as West Ham deal hangs in balance
Disasi does appear close to joining West Ham ahead of the transfer deadline and looks set for his medical.
However, the Frenchman is still not fully convinced of moving to the London Stadium, even on loan.
According to Claret and Hugh journalist Sean Whetstone, he is yet to undergo his medical at Rush Green.
While the club remain confident of finalising his deal on loan before 7 pm, it is not yet done.

The 27-year-old is understood to be waiting on certain assurances from Nuno Espirito Santo before he agrees to join the Irons.
Whetstone wrote on X: “Axel Disasi is yet to have his medical this afternoon although West Ham are still hopeful, he will sign on loan before the deadline at 7 pm. The player requires some assurances from the manager.
“West Ham unlikely to sign anyone else before the transfer deadline.”

What can Nuno Espirito Santo do to convince Disasi to join?
Disasi will probably be apprehensive about moving to a side in the Premier League relegation zone.
They are six points from safety, and the expectation on the outside will be that it is not the best place to be.
Thus, the onus is on Nuno to assure the French defender that this would be the ideal destination for him to play football regularly.
Disasi would want to be at a Premier League club and starting week in and week out – something he can achieve at the London Stadium.
Nuno could also explain to the Chelsea defender how he could pair up with Jean-Clair Todibo and how the duo can get the best out of each other.
At 27, Disasi is entering his prime, and the Hammers boss should show him presentations about how he has previously improved defenders and how he could do the same with him as well.
