Celtic stance on latest Nottingham Forest bid for Hoops star as Sean Dyche's side ask major…

Nottingham Forest have held interest in the Celtic star.

Celtic’s resolve over Arne Engels is set to be tested as Nottingham Forest make a third deadline day bid for the midfielder.

The Belgian who arrived from Bundesliga side Augsburg in the summer of 2024 was subject of two previous offers from Sean Dyche’s side in the Premier League. Hoops boss Martin O’Neill said after the weekend win over Falkirk that an exit was not on the cards for the midfielder who signed in an £11m deal, but Nottingham Forest have now offered a chance to make a handsome return on their club-record asset.

Sky Sports claim: “Nottingham Forest have made a third bid for Celtic midfielder Arne Engels worth up to £25m. The Premier League club want to pay a guaranteed fee of £20m for Engels with £5m in add-ons. Celtic rejected Forest's first two bids for the 22-year-old, with the last offer worth £17.3m. Celtic have had no plans to sell Engels in this window and yesterday boss Martin O'Neill said he hoped the club would rebuff any offers. However, the club are believed to be mulling over the offer for their club-record signing.”
