Taking to X, Everton News columnist Myers has responded to a question on McNeil’s Everton future.
‘I expect him to go,’ he said, with Palace pursuing a late deal.
The Eagles are not alone, though. It is believed that Nottingham Forest remain keen on McNeil, with Sean Dyche eyeing another reunion.
Having more than one side interested will certainly strengthen Everton’s stance in potentially selling the 26-year-old.
McNeil did not even make it off the bench at the weekend against Brighton & Hove Albion, and he may not play for the club again.
Everton could fund Tyrique George purchase through McNeil sale
George is joining Everton on an initial loan deal, but the Blues hold the option to buy him from Chelsea in the summer.
Of course, George is going to have to prove himself on Merseyside.
Everton have already seen the difficulties experienced by Tyler Dibling since he made his big-money move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
On the presumption that George passes the test, offloading McNeil for a fee in the region of £20m could go a long way to supplementing the fee needed to permanently land George.
Everton fans have not been impressed with McNeil and this feels like a great opportunity for Everton to cash in on the midfielder.
