Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford has no intention of returning to Old Trafford from Barcelona this summer. And he wants his long-term future resolved before England head to the 2026 World Cup.

Rashford joined the Catalan giants on a season-long loan deal last summer and has been hoping to make the move permanent. Camp Nou bosses agreed an option with their United counterparts to sign Rashford for £26m.

Rashford had no future in Manchester under Ruben Amorim, having been tossed aside into United's 'Bomb Squad' when he returned from Aston Villa last summer. But with the Portuguese having been sacked, there have been suggestions that interim United boss Michael Carrick would attempt to persuade Rashford to return to the club if he becomes permanent head coach.

However, Rashford is loving life in Spain and has made clear to Barca bosses that he wants to remain. Interestingly, it's understood that even if Barca fail to meet United's asking price and a permanent deal isn't done between the two sides, Rashford would instead look to move elsewhere, rather than return to United.

For his part, Rashford is willing to renegotiate his annual wages and accept reduced terms, it if helps seal a deal to remain with Hansi Flick's side. Rashford has thrived at Barca since turning his back on his hometown club, following a bust-up with former United boss Amorim. He has scored 10 goals in 33 appearances, including three in his last four, and provided 12 assists.

Rashford has put down some roots in Barcelona, after purchasing an apartment in one of the city's most exclusive districts and enjoys working under Barca's German boss Flick - who has been delighted with Rashford.

Rashford credits the Catalan giants with making him falling in love with football again and helping him to rediscover his best form.

That has seen him win back a place in the England squad, and Rashford is expected to be named in Thomas Tuchel's final squad for the World Cup. But he doesn't want speculation about his future hanging over him during the tournament.
